Caring for your Jewellery

Caring for your Sterling Silver Jewellery

General: Sterling Silver Jewellery doesn't tarnish easy however it will over time. Follow my instructions to get the best out of your jewels. All metals HATE moisture so it's always best to take off rings when washing hands and more often these days, when sanitising. Take your necklaces, bracelets and other body jewellery when showering or working out at the gym.

Cleaning: There are two ways to clean your Sterling Silver Jewellery, my choice and the most effective is to buy a relatively cheap silver cleaning cloth and give it a good polish. This will take off any dirt and marks from general wear. If you feel you need a deeper clean, use a small amount of mild dish soap in warm water. Let your jewellery sit in the solution for a few minutes, use a really soft bristle brush to remove any awkward dirt then allow to dry.

Storing: When storing Sterling Silver Jewellery, it's so important to store Sterling Silver on its own with no other metals or chemicals which can cause damage. To prevent scratching try to store all jewellery pieces separately. My advice would be to store in a jewellery box in separate jewellery bags. For the best results in airtight zip lock bags.

Caring for your Gold Filled Jewellery

General: Gold Filled Jewellery is becoming ever popular as it doesn't tarnish very easy at all, is a much cheaper alternative to solid gold and can last around 15 year is looked after so follow my advice to get the best out of yours. DON'T wear your Gold Filled Jewellery when applying lotions, suncream or swimming. It really does not like chemicals! I also advise to remove when working out. If you do forget it's always best to give a light clean once you remember by following the below.
